Elements, often geometric and abstract are ordered and by relating to each other spaces are created. Work is made in 2D and 3D and uses a minimal approach and references everyday graphical readymade shapes. Gaps and spaces are important elements and the ordering relates to a logic that underpins and informs the work. There are aspects of communication at play alluding to the structures, and relationships that underpin thought.
My art sets out to create an order from the instantaneous possibilities of imagination which is informed and is placed into context by architecture, products and graphics, the ready-mades of our collective imagination and our attempts to negotiate a relationship with this. I use perspective ideas that are common in representation.
The art takes form as drawings, prints, sculptures, animation and installation. I make works that are both monochromatic and colour. My materials reference our environment, mdf, pvc tape and I use digital techniques to create the shapes and artworks as well as the short animated works. These animations have been shown in various installations and at varying scale, often projected. The animated work deals with rhythm and the tensions of formality.
I studied Fine Art at Middlesex University and I graduated in 2009.
