Ekaterini Koliakou was born in Athens; her father was an admiral in the Royal Army Navy and mother was a collector of antiques and pieces of art, who was a big stimulation for Ekaterini. As a young child Ekaterini and her father visited the temple of Acropolis with a private guide, this was very inspirational. She has a strong intellectual and spiritual background, which has maintained so far. Her passion is discovering new cultures by travelling and experiencing new lifestyles. She has studied photography, history of art and fine arts in England, Greece, The Netherlands, Italy; as well as New York, which had the most influence on her art work- Abstract expressionism. From her early years until present, Ekaterini exhibits in various countries and has named her work ‘message art’.
Ekaterini works on an instant direct by using her hands, her work comes from her heart as well as her mind. All Ekaterini’s work refers to her self-diaries. Ekaterini loves to keep pets and translates her vivid dreams into her art world.
