Kirsty is a contemporary visual artist based in East London. Though she dabbles in video, installation, collage and poetry, she imagines she is primarily a painter - but not one who always uses paint.
She is less interested in definition than exploration, and her work often seeks after the intangible. She enjoys playing with light, texture, words and objects, and rearranging and recreating the interesting things she finds.
Kirsty completed her BA in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University. Since then, she has exhibited work in London, Nottingham, Edinburgh and Shropshire. For the past year she has worked from St Patrick’s Studios in Wapping; she also helped organise their first Open Studios.
Kirsty also works at Husk, a community cafe and creative space in Limehouse, where she organises exhibitions and runs an artists’ residency programme. She enjoys collaborating with other creatives, and seeing the Arts inspire and enrich local communities.
