Based in South Cambridgeshire I studied printmaking at the Curwen Print Study Centre just outside Cambridge.
To me printmaking is another form of painting but one which offers extraordinary possibilities and freedom. I want to capture the essence, movement and form of images I may know well or have merely glimpsed, whether sea or landscapes, cities and buildings or more figurative subjects. Much of my work is created as individual hand pulled ‘mono-type” prints, each one unique, although I may explore an idea by reworking the plate in different colours and techniques to create a series, and often replaying with the idea again over time. I have just started to work in Lithography which lends itself to very figurative images, something I hope to develop. |
