I take my inspiration from connections with my surroundings and my work is an emotional response to people and places past and present.
I grew up in Lambeth and the places I portray are part of my own personal history. The paintings aim to reflect my feelings for the city that I love and my changing relationship with it.
Drawing is an important part of my practise and forms the basis for paintings. The urgency of trying to record an image with all its complexity and accumulated memories is the continual challenge that informs my work.
I work as an artist and educator and exhibit in London and locally.
