Artwork label guidelines

This section provides essential guidance for the design, preparation and installation of artwork labels at Espacio Gallery.

Following these guidelines helps ensure clear communication with visitors, visual consistency across the exhibition and protection of gallery walls.

Design

Freedom of design

You are free to design your artwork label in a way that reflects your artistic practice, whether minimal or more expressive.

All labels must have a white background to ensure visual harmony across the exhibition.

Material options

Labels may be printed on clear acetate, white card or foamboard.

Neatly cut foamboard is recommended for a clean and professional finish.

Preparing your artwork labels

To ensure a smooth and professional installation, all artwork labels must be prepared in advance and brought ready on installation day.

Carefully prepared labels help maintain a consistent and refined presentation throughout the exhibition.

Printed labels

Please bring your labels printed from home. Sturdy paper or card is recommended, with foamboard strongly preferred for a clean and professional finish.

  • Clean and straight cuts
  • No uneven or rough edges
  • High quality printing with clear and legible text

Installation day

All labels must be ready and brought with you on the day of installation.

Labels should not be printed or prepared at the gallery.

Shipping artworks

If you are sending your artwork to the gallery by courier, your printed label must be included inside the same package as your artwork.

This ensures your work can be installed correctly and without delay.

Optional label service

If you prefer, you may purchase artwork labels directly through our website.

We will prepare, print and neatly attach the labels for you, ready for installation.

This option is ideal for artists who would like a fully handled and consistent presentation.
