Olena Kravtsova
Olena Kravtsova is a Ukrainian contemporary artist whose practice evolved from an academic career into a deeply personal artistic journey. After more than 25 years teaching and researching in the field of historical sciences, she redirected her voice into visual expression.
Working primarily with collage, mixed media and printmaking, Olena develops each piece through a highly personal process—painting, printing and constructing her own materials to achieve a layered and symbolic visual language. Her work often draws from Ukrainian culture, mythology and ritual, transforming traditional elements into contemporary narratives.
Her compositions explore themes of protection, memory and the fragile balance between good and evil. Through minimal palettes or complex textures, she builds stories that invite reflection on human existence, justice and collective identity.
Art has become Olena’s voice beyond words. Her work reflects a belief that even the simplest forms—lines, textures or symbols—can carry profound meaning. By combining philosophy, tradition and experimentation, she creates pieces that seek to protect, question and inspire, offering viewers a space to reflect on their place in the world.
