Artist guidance

Welcome to the Artist Information Portal

This space brings together all essential guidance for exhibitions at Espacio Gallery. You will find clear instructions, practical notes and helpful tools to support a smooth, creative and enjoyable experience from installation to closing day.

Prohibited Actions

Actions that cause permanent damage to gallery walls and surfaces are not allowed.

To protect the gallery building, its character and the quality of future exhibitions, the following actions are strictly not permitted. Please avoid stickers, paint, glue or tape directly on gallery walls, the shop front or the gallery logo. No drilling, nailing or permanent fixings of any kind. No banners or signage fixed directly to external walls or the wooden shop front. No changes to the gallery official signs or identity.

Labels

Your labels help visitors connect each artwork to its story. They make your wall easier to read, more accessible, and more professional for everyone.

You are free to design your labels in a way that fits your practice. Choose the style, typography and format that feel right for your work, as long as the information stays clear, readable and consistent across your section of the exhibition.

Safe attachment of labels

Attaching labels correctly keeps the gallery walls in good condition and makes your display look clean. Please follow the approved methods below when preparing and placing your labels.

1. Label printed on rigid card

Rigid card labels are practical and elegant. They are easy to read, sit flat on the wall, and work beautifully for paintings, photography and sculpture.

2. Using soft masking tape

To attach your label without damaging the wall, use only soft masking tape. This tape has a gentle adhesive and will not pull paint or leave residue.

Fold small pieces of tape into rings and place them on the back of your label. Use as many rings as you need so the label stays firm and level.

Use soft masking tape only.

3. Transparent acetate labels

Acetate labels are a modern, very clean option. They almost disappear on the wall and keep the focus on your artwork. You can use acetate in two ways.

a. Hanging behind the artwork

Attach the acetate label to the back of your frame so it hangs discreetly behind the work. This creates a soft floating effect and keeps the wall untouched.

b. Placed beside the artwork

If you prefer the label beside the work, use the same soft masking tape rings to attach it gently to the wall.

What you may include on your label

Your label is flexible and personal. You decide what best represents your work. The example below is simply a friendly reference to help you structure your text.

Simple label example

Details that often appear on labels

  • Your name
  • Artwork title
  • Year
  • Medium
  • Dimensions
  • Price if you wish to include it
  • Inventory number or internal reference
  • Website, Instagram or signature

Include only what feels right for you. What matters most is clarity, legibility and harmony with your wall and the overall exhibition atmosphere.

How not to label your artwork

This example shows a label format that often frustrates visitors. It gives too little information, repeats what is already visible in the work, or makes people ask for the price. A clear label helps your audience engage with your artwork more deeply.

Hanging System Guide

Welcome to Espacio Gallery. This guide gives you clear and practical steps for using our professional hanging system. It helps you display your artworks safely and beautifully while keeping the gallery walls well cared for.

We provide nylon cords or steel cables and adjustable hooks. If you need a hand during installation, just ask and we will gladly guide you.

Hanging system example in Espacio Gallery

Flexible and adjustable system

The STAS hanging system lets you move your artwork easily along the rail and cord. You can adjust height and spacing without damaging the walls. Slide the hooks gently until your work sits exactly where you want it.

Nylon cord

This is one of the two cord options available at Espacio Gallery. The transparent finish blends naturally into the wall, keeping attention on your artwork.

  • Transparent design
Clear nylon blends into the wall.
  • Easy installation
Pre attached with the STAS Cobra head.
  • Weight capacity
Supports artworks up to 7 kg.
  • Ideal use
Best for lightweight frames and minimal visual impact.

Insert the Cobra head into the top rail, let it drop, then slide it to your chosen position.

Steel rod 4x4 mm

This is the second cord option at Espacio Gallery. It is stronger and more visible than nylon, ideal when you are hanging heavier works.

  • Rigid structure
Steel gives extra strength and a clean vertical drop.
  • Quick setup
Slide the rod into the rail from the side. No hooks needed.
  • Heavy duty capacity
Supports artworks up to 40 kg.
  • Available size
    Standard length 150 cm.
  • Recommended use
Best for heavy pieces or when you want a straight vertical line.

Use only with the STAS J rail max system. Slide the rod in from the side. It does not hook in from below.

Do not cut the cords

Please do not cut the gallery nylon or steel cords. Keeping cords intact protects the system and helps us reuse materials for future exhibitions.

  • Keep cords intact
Do not cut or shorten the cords.
  • Secure properly
Check that the cord is firmly attached to your hook and artwork.
  • Handle excess length
Roll any extra cord gently and tape it behind your artwork.

Thank you for helping us keep the system safe, clean and reusable.
