Who we are The Espacio Gallery was founded in 2012 by a group of artists working across all contemporary visual arts media who wanted a space of their own specially designed to meet their needs.
Espacio is funded by its own Artists Members as well as hiring the venue a few times a year. The gallery is one of the largest galleries of its type in East London.
What we do The Gallery provides a multi-purpose physical space for a wide range of artistic activities including exhibiting 2D and 3D works, new media, performance art and installations. It also provides opportunities for members to develop their art practice through collaboration, networking, and critiquing sessions.
How are we run? We run on a co-operative basis. All our members are committed to making a practical contribution to the running and development of the gallery. The minimum expectation is that members help to organise and invigilate their own exhibitions. We do not employ any staff and provide all the labour and expertise ourselves.
Benefits of Membership Membership of the gallery is by annual subscription fee. Each member pays £200 per year and benefits include:
Participation in 1 exhibition a year in our high quality exhibition space in a vibrant and artistic corner of East London
Free posting of artist webpage profile and images of works on gallery's website
Opportunities to organise and curate exhibitions at the gallery
Opportunities to hire the gallery at a discount price for solo exhibitions
Invitations to private view of all Espacio exhibitions throughout the year
Invitations to workshops and training sessions held at the gallery
Free participation in all networking and publicity events
Opportunities for collaboration with other Espacio artists
