Picture
Kevin Rowe works in a range of analogue and digital media exploring Machine Life; the condition distinct to our species. The worlds of history, now, and all possible futures, the global machine, environmental impact; the Anthropocene.

It’s said that it started with the cosmological BIG BANG, energy proceeding to matter, the primary elements/stars and galaxies/the higher elements/planets/geology/chemistry/ biology/botanical/animal/human/machine.

This evolutionary anthropic, machinic membrane enveloping, penetrating and emitting from Planet Earth is, then, a biologically constructed trauma machine; an Animal Machine. This is the subject the art here investigates using GUMBO PROCESSING.

Influences include: Expressionism, Science, Philosophy, Abstraction, Cartoons from William Hogarth to Robert Crumb, Physics, Biology, Genetics, Street Art, Manga, Fleisher Brothers, Anime, Game Art, Adverts, Cinema, 80s copy art and more.

Out of these develops a personal visual expression of an unpredictable and changing world.

The imagery emerging out of personal and shared histories. Dreaming in Public.
