Amravati Mitchell is a British painter living in Central London. She makes vividly coloured surreal collations of paintings. Her style is naive and spontaneous with unusual juxtapositions. Amravati produces several works on a project looking at different aspects of an idea. She works in mixed media painting loving to introduce unusual combinations and sometimes incorporates her monoprints and unusual materials.
Amravati trained for 7 years at Mary Ward College, Bloomsbury from Pre Foundation through Foundation and three years in Advanced Practice in Art and Design. She paints now in London and on a project basis in Europe and on occasion further afield. She creates small paintings and photos on site and then collates them in her studio to produce larger works.
Amravati is a qualified teacher of Vedic Art which introduces the spiritual nature of art. It is a healing art and helps to unblock the student’s creativity and encourages really unique work. Currently she teaches privately to foundation.
Amravati has exhibited in public galleries in 4 group shows, for Charities and at Mary Ward College for painting and printmaking. She is exhibiting over the winter in The Royal Brompton Hospital cafe.
